Considering the remarkable achievements made by Nepal in the field of civil aviation, the representatives of the French Civil Aviation Authority have expressed their commitment to take initiatives to remove Nepal from the list of countries currently on the EU's air safety list.

Nepal's airlines are not allowed to fly to European countries due to the EU ban. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has blacklisted Nepal's air travel since 2013, calling it unsafe. The ICAO had taken three plane crashes in the same year in 2010, one in 2011 and two in 2012 as the base for the ban on Nepali airlines.

In the same year, based on the ICAO's report, the EU also listed Nepali airlines as unsafe for air travel, but after the ICAO lifted its ban four years later in July 2017, the EU has maintained the ban.
