FNJ condemns attack on journalist

KATHMANDU, Nov 2: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has condemned the attack on Radio Menchayam correspondent in Terhathum, Santosh Tigela by a group of inebriated persons on October 30.



Radio journalist Tigela was reportedly on his way home from the Katuwal hotel in Tundikhel of Myanglung when the incident took place.[break]



The youths in an inebriated condition manhandled Tigela and threatened him to hang him to death, the FNJ has said.



The Federation has urged the authorities concerned to immediately arrest and take stern action against those involved in the incident, and also demanded serious attention of the Government towards the security of the media persons.
