KATHMANDU, Nov 6: The fire that broke out in Damauli today has been brought under control after almost five hours of continuous efforts. Although the fire is under control, the flame is not completely put out.
According to spokesperson for the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yubraj Khadka, the police were informed about the fire at 10:10 AM. “The fire brigade was brought after the police team failed to extinguish the fire. Helicopters were also ordered from Kathmandu as the fire continued to rage. It took five hours to bring the fire under control,” DSP Khadka said.
Two fire trucks from Pokhara reach Damauli (update)
Firefighters were called from Pokhara after security personnel and a fire truck from Byas Municipality failed to control the fire.
According to Khadka, the fire started from Bhupal hardware store before spreading to other shops nearby. He also said that the details of the total damage are uncertain at the moment.
