Tips for hearing tough feedback
The federalism issues are bringing in unwanted chaos among the Nepalese. As a developing country lagging behind in development due to ineffective political parties, it will be impossible for the nation to take care of so many federal states. The issue of federalism has already triggered ethnic clashes and disturbed its peaceful environment. I find the issue of federalism very disturbing.

As a layman, I want the government to focus more on gender equality. Policies should be made more viable for the disadvantaged women to get citizenship either in the name of father or mother. There are numerous widows or those who have been abandoned by their husbands, not enabling provisions to provide citizenship through either of the parent, will deprive many children of citizenship. This issue should be addressed effectively.
Along with that to create an enabling environment for women, strict laws should be introduced for curbing violence against women. If the rapists are given death penalty, the fear will deter them from committing such crimes and the country will hopefully be a safer place for women and girls to live.

Different geographical regions have different capabilities and competitive advantages. This has to be focused and given due consideration while delineating federal boundaries. Like Morang, Sunsari, Hetauda are districts who have higher rate of agricultural production. They could be put under different regions to benefit from their surplus production. Such provisions should be made while forming federal states.
Along with that constituent assembly members that bear the responsibility of developing the nation, should be well-qualified for their job. Each of them should be well educated, with at least an undergraduate degree. I know of a C.A. member who passed SLC examination last year. How can such representatives make development plans for the country?

The constitution should embrace for multi-religious nation instead of a secular or a Hindu country so that people of different beliefs are given equal respect. Along with that I feel the CA was oversized with 601 members. India, one of the biggest democracies in the world, is doing a great job with only 546 CA members. The size could have been decreased by around 30 percent.
To develop the nation, youth development should be tackled to reduce brain- drain in the nation. Strategies implemented by Modi government should be replicated in our context too.
Bishnu Giri, a MBS student
As a student, I demand the government to provide appropriate jobs for graduates and decrease the number of unemployed educated citizens in the nation. The colleges should make a provision of allotting its students to respective job sectors so that they do not fly abroad.
It is a good initiative to increase public participation in the constitution making process but I fear if the authorities will be able to address so much of heterogeneous demands effectively. I think the government is collecting all the feedback as a formality to justify that it has been incorporating the bottom-up participative inclusive approach in policy making.
