KATHMANDU, May 25: Ongoing staff disputes have put the Kathmandu Metropolitan City's (KMC’s) budget into uncertainty. Amid this situation, Mayor Balen Shah has reached out to the public, requesting feedback on what sort of programs the city should implement in the upcoming fiscal year.
"What kinds of programs do you want Kathmandu Metropolitan City to run in the upcoming fiscal year? Please share your feedback," he wrote on social media. "Submit your input online. We will include your voice in our policies, budget, and programs and set them into action."

He stated that the city has launched an online platform to gather suggestions and feedback in order to reflect the aspirations of citizens and the expectations of stakeholders and partners in its planning. "The portal features main categories and subcategories such as the city's identity, vibrancy, development and prosperity, basic needs fulfillment, social development, targeted group programs, accessible urban infrastructure, and service delivery," he said. "If your topic doesn't fall under these categories, you can use the 'Other' section at the end of the portal to share your suggestions or upload related documents."
He added that the webpage includes a button to access general information and the suggestion form. The same page also displays feedback submitted under 23 listed categories.
