KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has sought substantive feedback from the private sector regarding the third Investment Summit taking place in Kathmandu from April 28 to 29.
In the second meeting of the Investment Summit Steering Committee on Friday, the finance minister urged the private sector to identify potential foreign investors and projects and provide feedback in view of the event.

He also directed authorities concerned to expedite efforts for policy, legal and procedural reforms and selection of projects. He said that the priority of the summit will be to attract investment from foreigners including the Non-Resident Nepali community and domestic private sector.
The government is hosting the investment summit in coordination with the private sector and development partners.
Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board Nepal Sushil Bhatta, who is also the coordinator of the Investment Summit Secretariat, made a briefing on the preparations for the summit during Friday’s meeting.
The meeting was attended by various ministers including the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal; Minister for Energy Shakti Basnet, Minister for Water Resources and Irrigation Mahendra Raya Yadav; Minister for Forest and Environment Birendra Mahato; Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati and Minister for Urban Development Sita Gurung, along with Vice Chair of the National Planning Commission Min Bahadur Shrestha, secretaries from various ministries, Nepal Rastra Bank's deputy governor and the private sector representatives.
