"We decided to cancel the feedback collection function scheduled in all seven constituencies in the district after Madhes-based parties disrupted the programs on Monday," said Chief District Officer (CDO) Kali Prasad Parajuli.Following the protests, 18 constituent assembly (CA) members had gathered at the District Administration Office (DAO) on Tuesday morning, CDO Parajuli informed. They said holding feedback collection function amid protests staged by Madhes-based political parties is not possible due to security threat.
The meeting at the DAO concluded that gathering people at one venue for collecting feedback was full of risks. "We've decided to gather people's feedback in writing by mobilizing VDC secretaries and government staffers," Parajuli added. However, the CDO could neither provide a specific timeframe nor the procedure for collecting feedback.
All the constituent assembly members have returned to the capital.
