Likewise, the board announced the policy to categorize movies and cinema halls. In this policy, a special team formed by the FDB will inspect cinema halls and grade them according to their infrastructure. Similarly, the movies will undergo censorship and then, be given ratings according to its content and quality.

Speaking on the censorship issue, the chairperson of Film Development Board, Dharmendra Marbaita said, “In recent years, we have seen that Nepali movies have introduced different content, which are not appropriate for all the audiences. Therefore, in order to discourage screening of these sorts of movies in all film theatres, we have introduced censorship.”

The board promised to abate the piracy of movies, which would help in boosting the monetary gain of the movies. Likewise, it even presented its plan to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Nepali cinema.
