Eurasian Eagle smuggler arrested

By
KATHMANDU, July 7: Police have arrested a person Monday on the charge of bidding to sell Eurasian Eagle Owl.

According to Wildlife Conservation Nepal (WCN), which in its press statement reveals its support on police action, Surendra Upreti, aged 36, a resident of Kalanki, has been taken into custody by Metropolitan Crime Division for further investigation.

This is the third seizure in a row in two last months, WCN says. It also expresses concerns that illegal trade of Eurasian eagle owl has been rapid in recent months.
