RAUTAHAT, Sept 2: Police have arrested eight people including two Indian nationals along with various equipment for producing counterfeit currency in Sarlahi district.
Police raided and arrested the eight people on Sunday after receiving the information that they were involved in suspicious activities related to the trading and printing of counterfeit notes inside the room of a house located in Madhubani tole of Godaita municipality-12, Sarlahi.

The suspects were found with equipment used for making counterfeit notes.
The individuals arrested have been identified as Saugat Thapa Magar from Chandragiri Municipality-15 in Kathmandu; Bijay Lama from Kageshwari Manohara -6; Sanjay Rana Magar from Lalitpur Metropolitan City-1; Amir Khatri from Changunarayan Municipality-5 in Bhaktapur; Subodh Kumar from Bairgania Village; Rajib Thakur also known as Pappu; Janardhan Singh from Godaita Municipality-12, Madhubani in Sarlahi; and Bishal Rai, 37, from Chandrapur in Rautahat.
Police seized 14 sheets of paper cut to the size of Rs 1000 notes, eight liters of various colored chemicals, Rs 95,805 in cash, 10 mobile phones, a Scorpio vehicle with Nepali registration number, and two Indian motorcycles.
Rabindra Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP) of the District Police Office Sarlahi, said that necessary investigation regarding the arrested persons and seized materials is currently underway.
