Education minister announces probe into missing TU answer scripts and educational reform initiatives

KATHMANDU, April 3: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sumana Shrestha has said an investigation committee has been formed to look into the topic of the missing answer scripts of the examination conducted by Tribhuvan University (TU), and the committee is carrying out a study on this.

KATHMANDU, April 3: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sumana Shrestha has said an investigation committee has been formed to look into the topic of the missing answer scripts of the examination conducted by Tribhuvan University (TU), and the committee is carrying out a study on this. 


Minister Shrestha said so while responding to the queries raised by lawmakers during the Urgent, Zero and Special hours of the House of Representatives on Wednesday. She informed the House that an investigation committee was also formed regarding the change in the exam schedule.


"Forty-five questions and comments related to the Ministry of Education have come up in the House of Representatives from March 14 to April 2. Investigation committees have been formed and they are carrying out study on the topic of the missing answer sheets and examinations not taking place on schedule," she said on the occasion.

Education Minister Shrestha also shared that a taskforce has been constituted for a review of the criteria on teacher recruitment determined by the Teacher Service Commission. 


Minister Shrestha further said a committee comprising experts has been formed to conduct a study on what type of teachers have been teaching in the present age of science and technology.


The minister said that the government has initiated the process for issuing tenders for digitalization of all works of TU. Initiatives have been taken to provide educational certificates, including the transcript, digitally, she said.
