Discussion held on relevance of ancient Silk Route

KATHMANDU, May 15: The Embassy of Pakistan held a round table discussions on the 'Relevance of Ancient Silk Route in Modern Times: Nepal-Pakistan' in the capital on Monday. Academicians from Nepal and Pakistan participated in the discussions on possible areas of cooperation between Nepal and Pakistan under the framework of the multi-billion dollar Belt and Road Initiative launched by the Chinese government.

President of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship Association, Himalaya Shumsher Rana, said that both the countries should work to deepen economic as well as people-to-people relation under the framework of the BRI. Arun Gupta of South Asia Foundation for Academic Research and Center for Studies in South Asia and Hemanta Kharel of Nepal Council of World Affairs expressed their views on the topic during the seminar.
