KAVREPALANCHOWK, Oct 11: The BP Highway that remained blocked following the floods last week has reopened for traffic from today after the construction of diversions at 19 locations.

Construction of temporary roads on various damaged sections of the BP Highway was accelerated to resume the transport service along the route.

The Division Road Office, Bhaktapur, informed that the highway has been brought into full-fledged operation after testing the 'tracks' opened along the broken sections on Friday evening.

It is informed that by Friday evening, 'tracks' had been opened and tested from Chaukidanda in Namobuddha Municipality–6, Kavrepalanchok, to Mamti in Roshi Rural Municipality.

Office chief, senior divisional engineer Suman Yogesh shared that diversions have been completed at Chaukidanda, Katunje–Ghumaune, Charsayabesi, Gimdibesi, Narke, Chiuribas, Boksikuna, Kaldhunga, Dalawbesi and four locations in Piple, and two locations in Mamti.
