DHM requests everyone to be cautious of potential floods in small and big rivers

KATHMANDU, June 24: There has been heavy rain in the areas of Kaski and Makwanpur districts today, according to the Flood Forecasting Division of Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).



As the monsoon has spread across the country, moderate to heavy rains have been falling in different parts of the country since this morning.

DHM has also requested precautions as the flow of small and large rivers of the country may increase due to continuous rains.


DHM has requested to be cautious in the coastal areas of the rivers in Bara, Parsa, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhuli, Chitwan, Kaski, Parbat, Nawalparasi, Bardghat Susta East, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Doti, Baitadi, Bajhang and Darchula as there is a risk of sudden flow in the nearby rivers and some small rivers as well.


Similarly, the DHM has said that the water flow may increase in some small rivers around Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Sankhuwasabha, Okhaldhunga, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Makwanpur, Surkhet, Dailekh, Acham and Bajura.
