Scriptures also recount that during the Treta Yuga, Lord Ram asked his Guru Vashistha about this fast. In the sorrowful period following Sita's separation, Ram sought his guru's guidance to overcome his grief. In response, Guru Vashistha detailed the importance of Mohini Ekadashi, a story also mentioned in the Ramayana and other texts.
To further explain the significance of this fast, Guru Vashistha narrated the story of a king's youngest son from the city of Sumana Bhadravati, located on the banks of the Saraswati River. According to scripture, those who observe this fast break free from grief, suffering, and worldly attachments.
