"Look at the days before the formation of my government. What kind of fear was there? People got rid of all that the day I became prime minister. All people got rid of Oli's rule," he said.

President Deuba, who is also the prime minister of the country, said it is the choice for the party leaders and cadres to decide whether they want to continue his government. "The General Convention has to make a decision to ensure that there won't be the rise of a new authoritarian ruler," he said, while soliciting votes to elect him to the post of party president again.

President Deuba also assured that the NC will have a new government after the upcoming election. "The Nepali Congress will form a new government too. The party will have governments from local level to federal level. This is my responsibility," he further said.

Deuba argued that NC would form all local governments if the party continued to remain in power. "If the party continues to remain in power, NC will lead the national government. Please help me get elected once again to the post of party president," he pleaded.
