KATHMANDU, July 2: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday escalated 34.42 points to close at 2,694.82 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,662.92 points and initially plunged to the day’s low at 2.663.4 points before it surged to as high as 2,689.17 points in the midway of the four-hour trading time. The index, however, declined by 14 points in the next one hour. In the last one hour, the market again surged by around 19 points before it closed for the day.

All the 13 groups were marked as the gainers. Life insurance added the largest of 362.68 points, followed by non-life insurance with 304.94 points and development banks with 126.95 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, inclined by 5.52 points. The daily turnover amount also inclined to Rs 9.74 billion from Rs 7.03 billion Tuesday.
Among the individual companies, 182 were gainers while 65 were recorded as the losers. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 555.32 million.
Green Development Bank gained the highest of 9.99 percent of its market value. ICFC Finance Limited Debenture 2088 shed 3.73 percent of its market price and was registered as the highest loser.
