Daily turnover jumps to Rs 21.22 billion as NEPSE escalates by 64.67 points

KATHMANDU, March 19: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday surged 64.67 points to close at 2,877.02 points.



NEPSE opened at 2,812.34 points added around three points in the pre-opening session. The market escalated gradually throughout the trading time, achieving 2.29 percent in overall.

Sector-wise, all the groups were the gainers. Life insurance gained the largest of 367.29 points, while development bank, non-life insurance, manufacturing and processing, and hotels and tourism, also gained three-digit points. The heavy weight banking index also soared 46.69 points.  


The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies inclined by a notable 11.62 points. Daily turnover inclined by a whopping to Rs 21.22 billion from Rs 12.03 billion.


Among the individual companies, 240 were the gainers and 22 lost their market charms. Ngadi Group Power had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 671.61 million.


Three companies including Corporate Development Bank Limited, Salapa Bikas Bank Limited and Reliance Spinning Mills were the topmost gainers of 10 percent. Nepal Life Samriddhi Lagani Yojana with a decline of 5.12 percent in its market value was recorded as the highest loser.
