KATHMANDU, May 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday slid marginally by 2.79 points to close at 2,609.05 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,611.85 points and reached the day’s high at 2,625.06 points in the first 20 minutes. The index lost around 12 points in the next 10 minutes while it remained almost stable for the next one hour. The market that showed nominal recovery in another one hour, however, went downhill and hit the day’s low at 2,606.82 points in the last 20 minutes of the trading time.

Only three groups were recorded as gainers, with ‘others’ index leading the group by adding 94.94 points. Of the 10 losers, the development bank had its index decline 119.33 points, the largest of all.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, declined 1.83 points. Daily turnover amount, however, inclined to Rs 8.50 billion from Rs 7.08 billion on Thursday of the last week.
Among the individual companies, 100 were gainers while 145 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 703.75 million.
Corporate Development Bank, with a decline of 8.71 percent of its market price, was recorded as the highest loser. Om Meghashree Pharmaceutical Limited was recorded as the largest gainer.
