KATHMANDU, May 7: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Sunday plunged 19.12 points to close at 1,850.61 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,869.73 points, inched up three-points before it went downhill for the remaining trading hours. All the 13 groups had their indices declined, while non-life insurance lost the highest of 102.73 points.

In the intraday trading, 188 listed companies lost in their market value, while 23 companies registered as gainers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies also shed 3.14 points.
The daily turnover amount declined to Rs 608.13 million, down from Rs 732.68 million on Thursday. Due to the depleting confidence of the investors, the market turnover has fallen from over Rs 21 billion to just around half a billion rupees a day, in the past two years.
Among individual companies, Shivam Cements, with transactions of its shares worth Rs 32.23 million topped the list. NMB Debenture 2087/88 was the topmost loser, while Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest percent of its market price.
