KATHMANDU, June 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday declined by a marginal 1.07 points to close at 2,653.68 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,654.75 points and hit the day’s high at 2,662.63 points in the first one hour of trading. The index, however, plunged to the day’s low at 2,650.21 points at the mid way of four-hour trading time. The market recovered around three points in the remaining time before it closed for the day.

Five out of the 13 groups were the gainers, with hydropower adding the largest of 27.04 points in its index. Of the eight losers, hotels and tourism shed 80.57 points, the highest of all.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, rose by 0.01 points. The daily turnover amount increased to Rs 9.08 billion from Rs 7.65 billion on Tuesday.
Among the individual companies, 88 were gainers while 159 were recorded as the losers. Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 717.82 million.
With a decline of 10 percentage points, Corporate Development Bank Limited was recorded as the highest loser. Pure Energy Limited stood as the highest gainer.
