KATHMANDU, June 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday increased marginally by 4.78 points to close at 2,600.76 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,595.97 points and went through heavy fluctuation throughout the trading period. The index inclined by 10 points in the first half of an hour, while it plunged by 20 points to hit the day’s low at 2,585.08 points in the equal time interval successively.
In the next one hour, the market again reached the day’s high at 2,608.56 points, followed by a drop of 17 points in another 30 minutes. For the last 80 minutes, the market remained almost stable and hovered around 2,600 points.

Seven out of the 13 groups were the gainers, as the trading index escalated by 90.51 points, the largest of all. Of the losers, life insurance shed the highest of 49.62 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, inclined 0.97 points. The daily turnover amount plummeted to Rs 6.47 billion from Rs 9.14 billion on Sunday.
Among the individual companies, 123 were gainers while 124 were recorded as the losers. Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 521.85 million.
Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd gained the largest of 9.98 percent of its market price. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the topmost loser.
