KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday increased slightly by 3.83 points to close at 1,858.89 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,855.06 points and went to as low as 1,849.86 points within the first hour. The market then escalated to the day’s high at 1,865.01 points before losing around eight points again to close for the day.

The daily turnover dipped to Rs 886.09 million from Rs 1.15 billion on Sunday. In the intraday trading, a total of 125 companies gained in their market value while 72 companies lost on their share prices.
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies increased 1.15 points. Four out of the 13 trading groups including banking, hydropower, microfinance and trading lost their market values.
In individual companies, Prime Commercial Bank had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 69.34 million. Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the top gainer, while Eastern Hydropower Limited lost the highest percent of its market value.
