KATHMANDU, Oct 26: The Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has thanked Prime Minister KP Oli for clearing the matter of his non-involvement as an investor in the Bhatbhateni supermarket chain.
Addressing a rally organized by the Maoist Center against the government in Kathmandu on Saturday, Chairman Dahal claimed that when the owner of Bhatbhateni Min Bahadur Gurung donated land to the ruling CPN-UML, it became clear that he had no investment in the supermarket chain. Gurung was convicted of involvement in the Lalita Niwas land grab case.

“One of the accusations I faced from the reactionaries for four years is that I have an investment in the Bhatbhateni supermarket chain,” former Prime Minister Dahal said, “Even when the government under our leadership arrested the owner of Bhatbhateni Min Bahadur Gurung, people still claimed that I have an investment in the supermarket chain. I was always confused on how to clear this accusation.”
Chairman Dahal said that PM Oli has now helped him clear the accusation. “Now the prime minister has cleared the accusation from my head, and I thank him for doing so,” Dahal said.
He further accused the prime minister of being a shareholder of the supermarket chain. “You have made it clear that you are the shareholder, and therefore a corrupt person,” Dahal said, “I did not have to speak, Oli himself proved that businessman Gurung is in cahoots with the UML.”
