One more arrested in connection with Tinkune pro-monarchy protest

KATHMANDU, April 21: Police arrested one more person in connection with the riot that broke out in the Tinkune area on Monday.


According to police, the arrested individual has been identified as Om Prakash Luintel, 48, from Arjundhara Municipality–5, Jhapa.

On March 28, a demonstration was organized at the open ground in Tinkune, Kathmandu Metropolitan City–32, by a group of pro-monarchy supporters.


During the investigation of the incident that took place at the time, he was arrested for involvement in criminal activities such as vandalism and arson targeting both private and public property.


He has been taken into custody, and permission for a four-day extension of the remand period has been granted by the Kathmandu District Court. The investigation is currently ongoing.
