KATHMANDU, March 28: Police have dispersed the pro-monarchy protest held in Tinkune, Kathmandu. After the protest turned violent, police used tear gas and fired three rounds of aerial shots to scatter the protesters.
Currently, there are no protesters at the pro-monarchy gathering at Tinkune ground. Hours after multiple houses were torched by the pro-monarchy protesters, fire trucks finally reached the area at 3:15 pm.

Commander of the pro-monarchy movement Durga Prasai has also fled from the site after the protest turned violent.
In addition to the damage caused to the private houses, the protestors also attacked a taxi ferrying passengers from the Tribhuvan International Airport and the traffic police post in Tinkune.
The police had fired tear gas at the stage to disperse the crowd.
