KATHMANDU, July 9: As much as humans attack and destroy nature, nature always strikes back at us. When we exploit natural resources, the instances of natural disasters increase as punishment to us.
The exploitation of natural resources not only makes nature ugly but also harms the existence of our society and animals taking shelter in it. This is because without nature, neither human beings nor animals and other creatures can survive on this planet. Humans wear clothes to cover their bodily shame, yet they do not even think twice to strip off nature by taking its supernatural jewels.
Happy Earth Day!
Due to the over exploitation of Chure, rivers, forests and environment, today's society has turned into a colorless society. Not only the main city areas of the country, but also the forest in villages are destroyed. Tikabhairab, Nallu, Devichaur and Lele areas of Lalitpur can be taken as good examples of this. Haphazard stone mining and crusher industries are blamed for this.
The conspicuous silence maintained by all three-tier of the government to check this practice speaks in volume about the interference taking place against nature in different parts of the country. If the government, civil society and other stakeholders do not work together to protect nature, all the forest areas will be converted into barren land covered by ‘concrete jungle’ in a matter of next few years.
