Community forest, Yalambar Forest Committee of Dharan-8, added additional features, tree house, and fishing. In memory of the founder of the forest committee, former British Gorkha Sergeant Parshuram Rai, his family members constructed a tree house inside the community forest area. The tree house is perched on the tallest tree of the forest. A program was held this Saturday to handover the tree house to the community. The program was inaugurated by Rai’s widow, Masini Rai.
The Rai community is known for building shelters in remembrance of their deceased relatives. Nephew of Rai, Krishna Rai informed that the Rai family was planning to make a shelter and at the same community forest but upon the introduction of the project, the family chose to construct a tree house instead.
