Creative Arts Festival starts at NAFA

KATHMANDU, Feb 7: The Creative Arts Festival, 2019 organized under the aegis of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Department of Architecture and Other Creative Arts has commenced here today.

KATHMANDU, Feb 7: The Creative Arts Festival, 2019 organized under the aegis of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Department of Architecture and Other Creative Arts has commenced here today. 


NAFA chancellor Kanchha Kumar Karmacharya inaugurated the festival at NAFA hall today. On the occasion, chancellor Karmacharya said that the festival would be an important means for the development of creative arts which is evolving as the latest and contemporary genre.

He added that the festival will also provide an opportunity for sharing of experience and learning between the old generation and new generation artists as they would be working together in the festival. 


The four-day festival is organized with the objective of creating future opportunities for the development of this genre of art by motivating the artists through its systematic and specialized promotion, Department chief Ramesh Nath Khanal said. 

President of the International Watercolour Society Nepal, NB Gurung, said such festivals, besides motivating the artists, helped in the development of the arts. 


Performance arts competition, cartoon workshop and competition and on the spot art competition under the architecture would be organized as part of the festival. 


Twelve artists have applied for performance art, 30 artists have applied for cartoon workshop and 70 artists have registered for participation in the on-the-spot art competition. RSS
