COVID-19 tally in Gandaki Province climbs to 37 with first five cases reported in Parbat

POKHARA, June 2: Parbat district has reported its first case of novel coronavirus disease. Five persons from the district were diagnosed with this viral infection.

POKHARA, June 2: Parbat district has reported the first five cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease. 


Those tested positive for the COVID-19 in the district include two male patients (aged 20 and 40) from Phalebas Municipality and three other males (aged 19, 20 and 21) from Mahashila Rural Municipality in the district, according to Gandaki Province Directorate of Health.

Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, who heads the Directorate of Health of the Gandaki Province, said those tested positive for this virus will be taken to isolation wards set up at the District Hospital in Parbat.


Similarly, Syangja district in the Gandaki Province has also reported five new COVID-19 cases. Four males (aged 22, 26, 32 and 40) of Chapakot Municipality and another 20-year-old male from Biruwa Rural Municipality were diagnosed with this fatal disease. They will also be taken to Syangja District Hospital for further treatment, according to local government officials.


With these new cases, the COVID-19 tally in Gandaki Province has reached 37. Kaski, Gorkha, Manang and Mustang have not reported any COVID-19 cases so far.
