KATHMANDU, Jan 20: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release of former DIG Chhabilal Joshi on bail in connection with the embezzlement of funds from Swarnalaxmi Cooperative.
On Monday, Judge Thakur Prasad Kharel's bench set Joshi's bail at Rs 5 million. He has been released after paying the bail amount.

Previously, a case had been filed against Joshi in the Kaski District Court for cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering, where he was granted bail of Rs 8.8 million.
