KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Police have arrested former DIG Chhabilal Joshi in a case of embezzlement involving Surya Darshan Cooperative.
He was arrested in Kathmandu on Sunday, a police source told Republica.

The police are preparing to take Joshi to Pokhara. He is one of the directors of Gorkha Media Network, where Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and former home minister, serves as the managing director.
The parliamentary special committee formed to investigate misuse of cooperative funds has reported that Gorkha Media has embezzled Rs 654 million from five cooperatives.
Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai, the founding chairman of Surya Darshan Cooperative, is also the chairperson of Gorkha Media Network. Rai, Lamichhane, and Joshi are business partners.
