Corruption charges of Rs 11.5 million filed against Under Secretary of Transport Management Office

KATHMANDU, May 3: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Sundar Bhattarai, the under-secretary of the Transport Management Office at Sukedhara.

KATHMANDU, May 3: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Sundar Bhattarai, the under-secretary of the Transport Management Office at Sukedhara.


CIAA claims that Bhattarai's income and expenditure from July 16, 1981 when he entered government service till November 2018 did not reveal the source of his wealth of Rs 11.5 million, said Bhola Dahal, spokesperson for the CIAA.

CIAA has filed a case against Bhattarai in the special court demanding Rs 11.5 million.


Bhattarai said that the illegal wealth is in the name of his wife Muna Adhikari Bhattarai, son Ajyan Bhattarai, and daughter Prerika Bhattarai and has demanded the confiscation of the amount. Similarly, the authority's spokesperson Dahal said that the court has also been requested to confiscate the property in the name of his mother Indira Bhattarai.
