Birendranagar, Nov 21: A controversy has arisen after the polling officer took the ballot boxes to the police station and left it unattended as he went to sleep in Thantikandh Rural Municipality in Dailekh district..

The dispute arose after Jwala Prasad Khanal, polling officer of Janata Basic School polling station in Thantikandh Rural Municipality-2, Pipalchautara, left the ballot box at the police station and went to sleep. Now, the ballot is in the rural municipality office.

Party leaders have alleged that the ballot box that was supposed to be brought to Dullu Municipality was left in the village due to the negligence of the polling officer.
