CoAS women’s Int’l football kicks off

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: The CoAS Fourth International Women’s Football Tournament-2017, organized by Nepal Army, kicked off in Kathmandu on Friday. Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri inaugurated the tournament by handing over the ball to the referee.

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: The CoAS Fourth International Women’s Football Tournament-2017, organized by Nepal Army, kicked off in Kathmandu on Friday. Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri inaugurated the tournament by handing over the ball to the referee.


A total of 10 teams including five development region teams, three departmental teams (Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club and Armed Police Force Club) and two teams from India’s Sikkim and Bihar states are participating in the tournament. In the first match of the tournament, Army Club comfortably defeated Western Development Region 12-0.

Army Club’s Krishna Khatri was declared the player of the match as she scored seven goals. Likewise, in the other match, Nirmala BK’s four goals helped Nepal Police beat Mid-Western Development Region 12-0. She was declared the player of the match in that game.  


The tournament is being played in league-cum knockout format.
