KATHMANDU, March 30: Asia Pacific Security Association (APSA) Nepal is all set to organize a conference on fire safety in the capital next week.
Issuing a statement on Sunday, APSA said that the "Fire Safety and Electronic Security International Conference 2025" will be held at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Durbar Marg, on April 6 and 7 with the aim of reducing fire risks and to promote electrical safety technology.
APSA Nepal President Sunil Kumar stated that the conference will bring together representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Urban Development, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepali Army, all 753 local governments, industry leaders, and experts in fire safety and electronic security at one platform.

He emphasized that the event will provide insights into the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in fire risk reduction and electrical safety.
The organizers have confirmed the participation of various international experts and keynote speakers at the conference. Experts from 14 countries, including China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam, will deliver presentations.
The conference will feature panel discussions, research paper presentations, and a technology exhibition to showcase the latest advancements in fire safety and electronic security technologies.
Fire incidents in Nepal continue to cause significant loss of life and property every year. While the government and local authorities have taken various measures, the organizers emphasized the need for greater community awareness and innovative solutions, which led to the planning of this conference.
APSA Nepal Program Director Suresh Shrestha and National Association of Rural Municipalities Executive Director Rajendra Kumar Pyakurel, along with other experts, believe this conference will guide research, policy development, and technology transfer in fire risk reduction and electrical safety in Nepal.
The conference aims to identify fire safety challenges, foster discussions on solutions, promote the adoption of advanced technologies, and unite policymakers and industry leaders on a shared platform. The organizers consider this event a key milestone in shaping Nepal's security strategies.
