KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against a child development facilitator accused of securing a government school job by submitting fake educational certificates from India.
The anti-graft body filed a charge sheet at the Special Court in Kathmandu against Manju Devi Bohara, a child development facilitator at Shree Bhagwati Primary School in Parserawal, Alital Rural Municipality-5, Dadeldhura.

The CIAA began investigating Bohara following a complaint that she had submitted a fake academic qualification certificate while applying for the position.
According to the investigation, Bohara falsely claimed that she had passed the high school examination in 2010 from the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh, India. The commission found that the marksheet, certificate and migration certificate she submitted were all forged.
Based on the fake certificates, Bohara secured the government position and received salary, allowances and other benefits and facilities from the state.
CIAA Spokesperson Suresh Neupane said Bohara’s actions constituted an offence under Section 16(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.
The anti-graft body filed the case at the court on Monday, seeking imprisonment and a fine against Bohara in accordance with the same provision of the Act.
