KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Chief Justice Khilaraj Regmi is ready to head the election government, Supreme Court (SC) said on Monday.
The statement issued by Assistant Spokesperson of the apex court, Hemanta Rawal, said the chief justice has a positive view toward the proposal to head the government with a view to end the ongoing political as well as constitutional crisis but not for personal ambition.[break]
The statement further adds that the chief justice would move ahead along with consensus among the political parties, resolving constitutional and legal complexities and respecting decision of the judiciary.
"The Supreme Court believes that discussion on the formation of the chief justice led government is as per his respect to human rights, commitment for the free judiciary, his contributions in the field of justice for the past fourty years and respect to the judiciary," the statement further adds.
