ILLAM, April 3: The Chief Election Officer has been appointed for the by-election in Ilam Constituency-2 to be held on April 27 to elect a member of the House of Representatives. The Election Commission appointed District Judge Keshav Prasad Ghimire as the Chief Election Officer on Tuesday.
The District Election Office has said that the office of the Chief Election Officer will be set up at the Ilam headquarters on April 4. The final electoral roll will be published with the establishment of the office of the Chief Election Officer.

According to the by-election schedule, nominations will be done on April 6. As many as 20 parties have registered with the Election Commission to participate in the by-elections. The office said that the necessary materials for the election are expected to arrive from the center by April 5.
The District Election Office has already collected the list of employees who will work to hold the election. There will be 79 polling centers and 149 polling stations in Ilam-2. As many as 894 employees will be mobilized at these venues.
According to the Election Commission, the final list of candidates will be published on April 9, along with the allocation of election symbols.
