Addressing the 28th Academic Assembly of the Nepal Academy here today, Chairman Regmi clarified that suppressing the people´s fundamental right of casting vote does not suit any political parties or group having political character.
He said that the government would take stern action against those carrying out such activities including disturbing law and order, suppressing people´s voting rights and creating obstacles.
Chairman Regmi also urged all to participate in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections without any fear and illusions.
Appraising the contribution of the Nepal Academy for promotion of language, literature and culture of the country, he urged to make it more effective.
Similarly, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ram Kumar Shrestha, expressed his belief that the issues to be discussed in the assembly would be able to formulate further plans and programs of the Academy.
Minister Shrestha also expressed the commitment that the government would provide all necessary support to the Academy.
Chancellor of the Academy, Bairagi Kainla, informed that the assembly would approve Academy´s budget of the current fiscal year 2070/71 BS, and the policy and program.
