KATHMANDU, May 5: CG Ayurveda -- a subsidiary of Chaudhary Group - has launched wide range of ayurvedic products under ´Dirghayu´ brand.
At a program organized in the capital on Sunday, the company said it will produce and distribute six Classical Ayurvedic medicines and nine Proprietary Ayurvedic products under Dirghayu brand.[break]
Under classical ayurvedic medicines, the company has launched Aswagandha which is mainly for providing energy, Avipatikar for acute to chronic gastritis, Sitopaladi for cough and burning sensation of body, Hingwastak for indigestion, Shilajit for vigor and vitality and Chywanprash for immunity and rejuvenation.
While Chywanprash can be directly purchased and consumed, other five products in the category will be sold only on prescription of ayurvedic physicians.
Speaking on the occasion, Varun Chaudhary, executive director of Chaudhary Group, said all the products are made using local herbs. “The company is aiming to establish Dirghayu as a multinational brand,” he added.
Likewise, the company has launched Glucomin for diabetes, Strainex for stress; Dermonil for skin problem; Ayulax for proper defecation; Ashwajit enriched with Yarsagumba for enhancing body energy; Gastrigon for indigestion and gastritis; Ayuliv for liver diseases; Crataeva for urinary antiseptic; and FemCure for menstrual disorders under the Proprietary Ayurvedic products.
According to officials of Chaudhary Group, all the products under Proprietary Ayurvedic category have to be used only one recommendation of allopathic or ayurvedic physicians.
Chaudhary Group says all the newly launched products meet global standards and that the group is applying for WHO GMP certification.
The group is also planning to establish a research and development facility as it plans to get into personal care and lifestyle products market.
“We have already installed Air Handling Unit (AHU) which uses heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system,” said Chaudhary.
Highlighting the vision of the company, Chaudhary said CG Ayurveda´s main aim is to export Dirghayu brand of products in the international market. “We are planning to export Dirghayu products to China and some European countries,” he said, adding, “As our products are as per the standards of Department of Drug Administration, we are hopeful that we will be able to achieve our target.”
CG Ayurveda has manufacturing plant in Chaudhary Udhyog Gram, Nawalparasi. It has high-tech laboratory and a pool of doctors, pharmacists and technicians.
Jabish Gohlyan, business development manager of CG Ayurveda, said all the products under Dirghayu brand provide nature-based solution for healthy life. “All the ingredients used to manufacture the products are local, fresh and hygienic and we have used scientific technology to make traditional medicines,” said Gohlyan, adding that this will help promote Nepali products as well as reduce imports.
Gohlyan also said CG Ayurveda is planning to introduce cosmetic and FMCG products.
