New Patterns Boutique at Gyaneshwar is one such store that has launched new range of saris targeting the upcoming Teej festival. The store has offered a new lineup of soft net, French siphon and georgette saris for the festival.
Likewise, Shri Bandhani at City Center, which deals on all kinds of Rajasthani ethnic wear, has introduced Bandhani saris that are very light and totally handmade. Shobha Atolia, proprietor of Shri Bandhani, said they have already started to experience rise in sales. “Though the festival is still about a month away, our sales have increased by around 25 to 30 percent compared to the normal period,” said Atolia. “We expect the sales to increase further as our regular customers are yet to visit us for Teej shopping.”
Price of saris at Shri Bandhani starts from Rs 5,000.
“I came here to buy saris for my sister who lives in Australia,” said Nisha Karki, a BBA student, who was busy selecting saris when Republica caught up with her at City Center recently.
Arjun Sharma, proprietor of Kamdhenu Saris at Makhan, said soft net, French siphon and pure georgette saris are in high demand this year. “Besides, we have also introduced traditional Varanasi saris,” added Sharma. “Customers prefer soft net and georgette saris as they are easier to put on.”
According to Sharma, soft net saris are available in price range of Rs 1,500 to Rs 10,000, while pure georgette and French siphon saris cost a bit higher.
Along with saris, boutiques also sell accessories like bangles, earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets among others. These accessories are priced between Rs 75 and Rs 3,000.
