“Around 100 golfers including men, women, senior and junior golfers will compete for the title. It is an open tournament and we’ll register golfers on first-come-first-serve basis. There will be some corporate invitees also,” said Acharya. He said that there are attractive prizes for the winners, but did not reveal what the prizes would be. “There are prizes for the winner, runner-up, best gross, ladies’ winner, ladies’ runner-up, senior winner, junior winner, longest drive, closest to the pin and most birdies,” said Acharya.
Meanwhile, issuing a statement Ballantine’s said that it has had a long association with golf as both Ballantine’s and golf came from Scotland. Ballantine’s is associated with famous golf tournaments like the Ballantine’s Championship (Korea), Barclays Scottish Open, and the World Cup of Golf in China. “It is the first association between Gokarna and Ballantine’s and we are hosting an amateur tournament now. We hope it will grow in future for the pro-events also,” said Acharya.
