KATHMANDU, April 30: Rabindra Tiwari won the Hyundai Open Golf Tournament played at the Gokarna Golf Club in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Tiwari playing with six handicap scored 41 points to win the trophy. He scored birdies on fifth and 18 holes, his drop shots were on ninth, 16th and 17th holes. He was prized with Rs 100,000 and a smart phone.
Bharat Bastakoti and Bhairaja Pandey were tied for second place. On the count back Bastakoti finished runner-up as he scored 20 against 19 of Pandey.

Bastakoti got a gift voucher of Rs 50,000 and a smart phone. Pandey came second-runner up on the count back and received gift vouchers of Rs 20,000 and a smart phone.
Prithvi Malla got the best gross award with the gross score of 39 points. He carded four birdies on third, fifth, sixth and 12th holes against lone bogey on the first hole. He got a gift voucher of Rs 50,000 and a smart phone. South Korean golfer Miae Li won in the women’s category with 42 points. She received a voucher of Rs 20,000 and a smart phone.
Sadbhav Acharya was the winner in junior’s category with 39 points and bagged a gift voucher of Rs 20,000 along with a smart phone.
Former chief of army Gen Gaurav SJB Rana was senior winner (age 60 & above) with 35 points. He was prized with a gift voucher of Rs 20,000 and a smart phone.
Madhav Simkhada was the winner among Hyundai car owners’ category and bagged a gift voucher worth Rs 20,000 with a smart phone.
Tashi Dong got the longest drive, Hridesh Kumar Singh had closest to the pin and Vijay Shrestha Einhaus got most birdies on count back with four birdies.
They all got a gift voucher worth Rs 10,000 and a smart phone.
The tournament sponsored by Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt Ltd, the sole authorized distributor Hyundai Cars in Nepal featured 127 golfers. The tournament was played under stable ford format with ¾ handicap.
