KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Commenting on the decision of four major parties for the formation of a government led by the sitting chief justice, CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya has claimed that the decision has posed a serious threat to national sovereignty.

Stating that the development was a result of increasing foreign interference in Nepal, Baidhya said, “We will launch protests against the four parties´ decision,” said Baidya. [break]

Holding a press meet on Friday, Baidya had said the decision is against the spirit of multi-party system, interim constitution and the principle of separation of powers and had demanded formation of a national consensus government.

Meanwhile, Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) Chairman Upendra Yadav has said that consensus forged among major three parties and UDMF can not be a national consensus.

“They have ruined the country. Consensus between them cannot be a national consensus,” Yadav told Republica. He, however, claimed that the three parties and UDMF have not yet reached consensus on formation of an election government under sitting chief justice.
