KATHMANDU, May 17 : The US dollar continued to trade at a record high in Nepal’s foreign exchange market on Sunday, with the selling rate fixed at Rs 153.85 and the buying rate at Rs 153.25. The rate remained unchanged from Saturday’s selling price, which had reached a historic high.
According to the latest exchange rates, the euro is being traded at a buying rate of Rs 178.38 and a selling rate of Rs 179.08. The British pound sterling is valued at Rs 204.95 for buying and Rs 205.75 for selling, while the Swiss franc stands at Rs 195.12 for buying and Rs 195.89 for selling.
Similarly, the Australian dollar is being exchanged at Rs 109.73 for buying and Rs 110.16 for selling, while the Canadian dollar is trading at Rs 111.47 and Rs 111.91 respectively. The Singapore dollar has been fixed at Rs 119.81 for buying and Rs 120.28 for selling.
Forex update: US dollar selling at Rs 148.99
Among Asian currencies, the Japanese yen is trading at Rs 9.67 for buying and Rs 9.71 for selling per 10 units, while the Chinese yuan stands at Rs 22.50 for buying and Rs 22.59 for selling. The Saudi Arabian riyal is valued at Rs 40.84 for buying and Rs 41 for selling, whereas the Qatari riyal is being traded at Rs 42.04 and Rs 42.21 respectively.
The Thai baht is priced at Rs 4.70 for buying and Rs 4.72 for selling. The UAE dirham stands at Rs 41.73 for buying and Rs 41.89 for selling, while the Malaysian ringgit is trading at Rs 38.79 and Rs 38.94 respectively.
Likewise, the South Korean won is valued at Rs 10.23 for buying and Rs 10.27 for selling per 100 units. The Swedish krona stands at Rs 16.26 for buying and Rs 16.32 for selling, while the Danish kroner is trading at Rs 23.87 and Rs 23.96 respectively.
The Hong Kong dollar is being exchanged at Rs 19.57 for buying and Rs 19.65 for selling. Among Gulf currencies, the Kuwaiti dinar remains the highest-valued currency with a buying rate of Rs 500.24 and a selling rate of Rs 502.20. The Bahraini dinar is trading at Rs 406.34 for buying and Rs 407.93 for selling, while the Omani riyal stands at Rs 398.05 and Rs 399.61 respectively.
