KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Singer and litterateur Yogesh Baidya has been paid tribute. The singers gathered to pay tribute to late Baidya sang his songs as dirge on Friday.
Noted singer Baidya had passed away during the treatment at Kathmandu Valley Hospital here Friday morning. He was 77.
At a tribute gathering organized by Nepal Musicians' Association at Academy of Music and Drama, Naxal, musician Sambhujit Baskota, Chetan Sapkota, Basanta Sapkota and Mahesh Khadka, among others paid last respect to the late Baidya singing his song- 'Sapana Bhulai Sara'- as dirge.

"It is an irreparable loss to Nepal's music sector. Some days back, we lost Norbu Chhiring, now Yagesh dai," lamented Chetan Sapkota.
Similarly, Baskota reminded Baidya as a musician rich in mellifluous voice.
Bidya's last rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat. He was consigned to fire by his son Lokesh Nanda Baidya.
The late Baidya has sung over 500 songs. He was suffering from paralyses for some years.
He is lived by spouse, two daughters and a son.
