KATHMANDU, June 15: Bagmati Province has announced a budget of Rs 57.72 billion for fiscal year 2021/22. According to Kailash Prasad Dhungel, Minister for the Economic Affairs and Planning of Bagmati Province, the provincial government has allocated Rs 29.70 billion (51 percent) for capital expenditure while Rs 26.01 billion has been allocated for recurrent expenditure.

The Bagmati Province government has sought to mobilize the financial resources available with the private sector, public sector and cooperatives in order to increase production and generate more employment opportunities. Mechanization of agriculture and commercialization of farm products and providing subsidies to family members from the deprived communities who lost their lives to COVID-19, among others, are the priorities of Bagmati Province for the next fiscal year.
The provincial government has allocated Rs 2 billion for a dedicated program entitled ‘Province Chief COVID-19 Vaccination Program’ to ensure vaccines for all residents of the province.
