GORKHA, April 23: Haphazard excavation of resources on the banks of the Trishuli, Budi Gandaki, and Daraudi rivers is highly prevalent despite instructions from the local governments of Gorkha to bring such activities to a halt.
GORKHA, April 18: Construction of Palungtar Kundurtar Irrigation Project has resumed after a gap of 14 years. Construction of the canal, which can irrigate around 500 hectors of land had started in 2002 but was grounded the same year.

GORKHA, Sept 10: On Saturday morning, a horrible helicopter crash in the dense forest of Mailungpakha of Meghan Rural Municipality-1 in Nuwakot district claimed the life of six and left one critically injured. Chowang Nurbu of ChumanubriRural Municipality of bordering Gorkha died in the accident while Aaani Dolma Dikki of the same rural municipality survived with critical injuries.

GORKHA, Aug 19: Samir Miya, a ninth grader at Krishnajyoti Secondary School, Gankhu, is unable to go to school for the past three days, as he cannot dare to cross the swollen Jarang River. It had been just two weeks since his school resumed after the monsoon vacation. Despite his will to go to school and continue his studies, he is unable to do so, thanks to the flood triggered by torrential rainfall. The continuous downpour has raised the water level of the river preventing him from going to school.
UHIYA (GORKHA), July 3: The entire village of Uhiya in Dharche Rural Municipality-3 of northern Gorkha does not have any means of telecommunication. Neither Ncell nor NTC cell phones pick up any signal in the settlement. Not just a settlement but an entire ward of the former Uhiya VDC is now inaccessible through telephone communication. The locals have to climb a mountain in search of a proper signal.
