DANG, Dec 7: Altogether 2,584,910 voters from 10 districts of Province 5 will be taking part in the much-awaited parliamentary and provincial elections on Thursday. There are 12 districts in this province but Rukum and Rolpa have already taken part in the first phase of elections.
DANG, Dec 6: A long queue for voter registration a few months ago and another queue on Tuesday for her voter identity card haven't diminished the excitement of Manakali Pun of Ghorahi at the idea of voting for the first time.

DANG, Dec 1: Octogenarian Tilak Bahadur Dangi had voted for the first time almost sixty years ago in 1959. The eighty-seven-year-old local of Tulasipur still has vivid memory of the general election of February 18 that year. Election those days used to be simple and cheaper, he reminisces. Nepali Congress had secured a two-thirds majority in the first parliamentary election of the country, which picked up late BP Koirala as the first elected prime minister of the country. Dangi fondly recalls the historic election even to this day.
DANG, Nov 16: Thabang, the hotbed of the Maoist revolution in Dang, had shown firm reservation against election campaigns in the past. Stating that politicians whom they elected had neglected their plight, Thabang residents boycotted political events in the past. As a positive sign, the locality opened itself to local level elections held recently.
DANG, Nov 10: Reinforced with the backing of CPN-UML, Krishna Bahadur Mahara of CPN (Maoist Center) registered his candidacy for the parliamentary polls from constituency 2 of Dang district on Thursday.
DANG, August 19: Shambhu Badi of Bakharaiya, Tulsipur, lost his house to Babai flood three years ago. He had few belongings inside the house, which were also swept away. For a few days he slept under the open sky at the river bank.
It has been more than a month since the local representatives were elected. But unfortunately they have not made any visible progress so far and this has disappointed the locals. So far the representatives have not implemented any of their plans though they had made numerous promises before the elections
DANG, July 18: An interesting thing happened at the Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City’s office on Monday and locals present at the scene were delighted to witness it. A member from the Kusunda community was taking oath of office along with other members of the newly sub-metropolis’s executive team. Dhan Bahadur Kusunda was the center of attraction.
DANG, July 3: After a winless streak for 20 long years, CPN-UML has finally registered victory in Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City, an important constituency of Dang district during the recently held local polls.
